Tax relief can be claimed by businesses on all donations over €250, e.g., if your business pays tax under the self-assessment scheme you can claim tax relief on your donation, if you pay tax at the higher tax rate, on a donation of €1,000 the club will receive the €1,000, tax relief of €400 is available, so the actual after-tax cost of the donation to the doner is €600.
